Celebrating 45 years through the California Redwoods, Roaring Camp is excited to share more outdoor experiences with visitors by offering a new eco-adventure program that can be added to any group’s visit. Imagine cycling or hiking through an old growth redwood forest and seeing trees seldom seen by the public, learn about the various eco-systems of Bear Mountain from the redwood forests to the sand covered chaparral. Experience, first hand, the wonders of a redwood forest. Your expert guides will show evidence of what was once a vast inland sea that covered all of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Hear about the life of a dead tree and how it becomes an integral part of the forest with its own living habitat. Plus, the new Bear Mountain Outdoor Cookout is a tasty addition to groups taking part in the Bear Mountain Cycling Adventure or Norman’s Trail Nature Walk. At Roaring Camp, now you can do more than just see the forest. You can touch it, feel it, taste it, and experience it up close and personal.
